Traditionally inlay is made into a graceful floral pattern. More recently the floral design transformed into a swirl vine design. Our "celtic" design is the best of both modern and ancient with its stellar motif inside a circle. There is a pattern for every style of home and every cultural influence. Think tribal patterns for drama and striking statements, scallops and shells for coastal homes, Moroccan, Art Deco, Ikat, Honeycomb, Stars, Stripes and Dots and Dashes and more - they're all have their place as a much loved piece in the right place. 

Vibrant Colour Palette:

The colour palette of inlay homewares is as diverse as the patterns themselves. At Zohi Interiors, we understand the importance of colour in interior design. That's why we offer an extensive selection of hues to ensure your furniture seamlessly integrates with your existing colour scheme or creates a bold contrast. We recommend using Hex or Pantone Colour Codes to communicate your preferred colour. We love the Hex Colour tool for playing with tones and shades. You can see the tool here. If you click on a colour you'll see that the page shows both darker and lighter tones of that colour. You can also tweak the RGB or CMYK compositions.  Tinting resin is a little like making icing for a cake. We can't always get the colour exact due to variations in computer screens and the handmade nature of mixing the resin. However, we can certainly get very close and it helps a great deal if we know the hue of your dreams. Images also help communicate the look you are going for.

Custom Designs:

Apart from choosing patterns and colours, Zohi Interiors allows you to bring your own custom designs to life. Inlay Options: 

Mother of pearl and bone can be used interchangeably. For a specific explanation of the difference between mother of pearl and bone please refer to our blog. For a more mid-century aesthetic, or an bohemian look, you might like the timber and bone inlay. Glass, brass or marble are also used in inlay homewares for fabulous luxe effect.

Other Options:

Some of the other ways that you can tailor your special piece include: 

• metal or timber runners on drawers.

• polyurethane coating - the final touch for all inlay is usually a slight waxing of the surface. It is also possible to elect to a polyurethane coating which gives the piece additional smooth tactile experience in a choice of gloss, semi-gloss or matte. The polyurethane coating protects the inlay too. it is possible to apply a coating yourself as well.

• choice of gold or silver embossed metal finish - every inlay piece can made with an embossed metal covering in lieu of the inlay. The metal comes in white and gold in variety of embossed patterns.

• standard or reverse inlay - usually the resin is coloured and the inlay is natural. It is also possible to invert those and have white resin with dyed bone.

• choice of knobs and handles - we recommend DoUp for a vast range of handles in addition to handles and knobs from our Indian suppliers. Crystal look, black, bone and brass knobs can upscale any piece to suit.

• leg style - if the legs are metal they can be finished in black, chrome or brass-look. Alternatively legs can be designed a straight, tapered or provincial.

Bespoke inlay pieces take around 4-6 week to craft and then 2-4 weeks to reach you by air or 8 weeks by ship.
